2-Year Old Boy Freed After N5M Ransom Was Paid

                                                 Little Emmanuel Oluwatunniso Alonge
Kidnapped Nigerian two-year old school boy, Emmanuel Alonge has been returned to his parents by the kidnappers after his family paid N5 million ransom.

Alonge was kidnapped by yet to be identified gunmen on Monday at Iju area of Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria and taken to an unknown destination.
The kidnappers had earlier demanded for N150 million, which they later slashed to N100 million and then to N20 million and later to N5 million.

Mr. Olusegun Alonge, father of the boy told P.M. NEWS on phone this morning that the boy has been returned to the family by the kidnappers after paying N5 million ransom.

The overjoyed Alonge said the family picked up the boy around 3.00 this morning at Car Wash bus stop, Alakuko, where the kidnappers dropped him.

“I thank God, the baby is fine. They treated him well. The house boy is still with the police as they are still investigating the case,” he said.

Little Alonge was being taken to school in the parent’s Lexus Jeep in the company of the driver (Daniel) and the private nurse (Mrs. Adeyemo) when the kidnappers who ambushed and overpowered them snatched the little boy from them at gun point.

It was gathered from eye witnesses that the kidnappers wore masks during the operation and had been in the vicinity awaiting their victim some hours before the time.

It was learnt that when they arrived the area, they drove and packed their black Mitsubishi Montero jeep at a distance of about seven buildings away from the residence of the Alonge’s.

An eye witness had said that, “Truly, we noticed the black jeep packed, but we didn’t suspect any ulterior motive because the passengers were outside playing and chasing each other about, until when we noticed them moving again to block the coming Lexus jeep carrying the boy to school.”

Another eye witness, Kamilu Sulaimon said that trouble began for the Alonge family when the Montero jeep pretended to be moving away from the Willisco Street only to block the Lexus jeep.

“The jeep refused to give way to the Lexus jeep and at the same time refused to move on; the driver of the Lexus jeep started to hoot and suddenly, the kidnappers alighted and demanded for the boy.

“We noticed that the driver refused, this made the assailants threatened to break the glass, eventually, the driver opened the door when he saw the guns with them, they threw the private nurse under the SUV car, and sped off with the child,” he explained.

The nurse, Adeyemo explained that because she was thrown under the vehicle and that Daniel could not ride on her, it gave the assailants ample time to drive off before the chase that followed could be effected.

According to her, the kidnappers hit her several times with gun butt when she refused to release the boy, adding that “when they opened the door, they told us ‘we are not going to kill you if only you give us the boy’; I then told them that I will not release the boy, until they kill me, that was when they hit me in the head and when I slumped they threw me under the vehicle.”

However, the arrested driver, Mr Gabriel Olajubu and the house boy, Stephen and two guards are still with the police in connection with the incident.

  7. na wa o,thank GOD for his life abeg for those who have kids or running a family take care before employing anyone into your house and personal space…for instance back home in nigeria my parents have always employed every single staff be it driver, housemaid anything directly from our home town my nanny and my brothers are still in touch with the family till today tens of years after taking care of us married and settled down in our home town. they might not be as smart or glamorous as those found in lagos but at least we know their family and background and are trustworthy

of course but the advantage in employing people from your own village is because the villagers know the history of every single member of that community they know those who have criminal tendencies and those who have psychological issues etc..also most times a good family where you have found good honest staff tends to recommend same and it goes round like that

    4. @Luca, Nigerias troubles are complex
you will hire from the village then they will go all Aiye on you hmmm!

people will go all aiye/diabolical either from the village or elsewhere have you heard about some nannys who are contracted by ritualists to procure all sorts for them..they check out at the agencies and get excellent references because they work for big rich wealthy people..i would rather take a chance with a naive village person that i know all their family and see them regularly than a nigerian agency that will tell you they screen and then back out when trouble starts for instance are the agencies insured and what is the extent of their indemnity in cases such as this?

  9. Nigeria has falling into a lawless society. Everyday, we are one step closer to falling over the cliff. Somalia now appears to be a more stable and functional society than ours. I don't know what it would take to control our people. People having children they can't take care off is part of the problem. This children grow up behaving like wild animals with no sense of regard for human life. And our politicians keep embezzling funds meant for economic development. How much more can our people take. Maybe the masses should cry out for the white man to come back and re-colonize us. We've had 50 years of experimentation with self rule and I have to say that our leaders have done a dismal job. Most are not even qualified to rule their ward. I am mad.

    1. not ours,in lagos they end up meeting others from the same community back home who have settled in the city so they share similar values once any youth goes to lagos or any other part of nigeria where the villagers dont know anything about him/her the gossip will go round and they will recommend you dont hire him/her for this reason

    2. I agree with the safety part of getting people from the village. However, they grow wings big time. My Mum did that when we were kids. But as we grew up, she started using an agency that screens them. That way she could hire and fire when she wanted. She still does that now. She also gets a Policeman to come and take down their details to put fear into them. The really bad ones that have been found wanting, she has called the Police on them. Village people think you owe them and my Mum found it hard to tell them to go away when they stole and/or misbehaved. Eventually, when she did, they talked. My Dad defended her all the way. Domestic help = necessary evil. Thank God for living abroad where you can do without them. DIY service all the way.

true, you can't do without the petty politics plus they tend to take on big uncle/aunty roles going above their station thinking they somehow have a right to discipline you because they know your parents are from same village lol i think it depends largely on the kinds of people they hang out with though if they start hanging out with lagos peeps thats when they start growing wings
