Folorunsho Alakija Replaced By Isabel Dos Santos as the Richest Black Woman in Africa

Nigerian female Billionaire, Folorunsho Alakija has been displaced as the richest black woman in Africa according to Forbes.

She was replaced by Isabel Dos Santos, the oldest daughter of Angolan President Jose Eduardo Dos Santos.

Isabel has been buying more shares of publicly traded companies in Portugal, including shares in a bank and a cable TV company. Those stakes, combined with assets Isabel dos Santos owns in at least one bank in Angola, have pushed her net worth over the $1 billion mark. She is 40.

One oil person using state funds replaces another oil person using connections to the state. What would we do without oil?

  4. The truth is that this women are not amassing the wealth attributed through industry or entrepreneurship but from patronage. Getting awarded oil blocks etc. How many folks can get lucky enough to get such breaks. Nothing there for folks to celebrate about.

  12. Displaced you say? Nah, that's not what happened. I suspect Forbes did an inquest into Folorunsho's wealth and discovered the truth behind it. Forbes have a lot of 'spies' (information gatherers).

You think they don't read Nigerian blogs and online publications? They have 'third ears' designated in every part of the world. And if they smell something fishy about your monies; you're off the list. Pronto! She wasn't displaced, she was quietly REPLACED

    **my take**

  13. You Nigerian bloggers are smoking something. No research; just paste rubbish. How can Isabel overthrow Mrs. Alakija with just $1 billion? Y'all don't even care to be credible sources of information. Mrs. Alakija is worth $3.3 billion, Oprah's net worth is $2.7 billion... Google is your friend.
