Congratulations to them ALL either with Award or not. Seriously Mercy Johnson deserves that award, She acted wonderfully in that film DUMEBI, very funny & educative. Funke's a great actress but not a comedian, Jenifer was just a hit, I'm a yourba person, we have great female actresses that has great sense of humour & hilarious such as Ronke - Oshodi Oke, Jaiye Kuti, Dupe Johnson and many more, they r known as ordinary actresses, but they r very funny. People should stop condeming Mercy Johnson's award. Mama B
ReplyDeleteI agree completely with you! Mercy was absolutely marvelous in that movie, she brought the character Dumebi to life!I must have seen it a million times yet I still laugh each time... Dumebi the dirty girl will go down as a timeless piece, all thanks to Mercy!

ReplyDeletei have not seen most of the movies and i personally think the whole funke akindele hype is irritating nevertheless i think she deserves the award more than mercy johnson, a mere cursory look at their antecedents and consistency is enough to highlight who the better comedic actress is between the two i am slightly dubious of the mirror by award the script isn't that wonderful its just normal only the directing and over all production was..the dialogue was more or less the usual nollywood mix
ReplyDeleteThe movies/roles which gave them the nominations were clearly stated.This is not about antecedents or consistency. If you go by that, the likes of Genevieve and Omotola will keep wining and the new talents wouldn't have a chance. So If you haven't seen either of the movies, or you've seen only one then your argument is not valid. Come back when you have, then you can make your point.

ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to comedy??? Mercy Johnson represent! Kudos to her! She has actted like 5 comedy that I've seen and dey re very funny and nice movies though! Apart frm dumebi, heart of a fighter! Troubled king etc she acts her role well and seriously . As for funky, she is not not dat funny! Apart from jenifa which other film can u call as comedy movie for her? None..... She as funny as ronke oshodi , kola odunlade In Yoruba movie ! So mercy Johnson deserves d award ! Nice one babes
